All active and retired Texas state agency employees can vote, as well former Texas state agency employees with an ERS account!

HOW

Via mail-in ballot or online! Every state employee will get a ballot in the mail, starting around Friday May 16. You can vote via this mail-in ballot by using the prepaid envelope that comes with your ballot

Employees with email addresses that have been registered with the ERS will also receive an email with a direct link to vote online. You are allowed to use your state computer to vote in this election. You can also go directly to the webpage for voting here: (insert link when available)

WHEN

Election dates are May 16 to June 20

WHY

The Employees Retirement System (ERS) Board of Trustees makes crucial decisions that affect your health care, retirement benefits, and the long-term stability of the pension fund.

The Board oversees:

  • Health insurance and pharmacy plans
  • Retirement investments and the ERS Trust Fund
  • The Texa$aver 401(k) and 457 plans
  • Contracts with health insurance administrators and other vendors

Voting in this election ensures that you have a voice in who represents your interests when these decisions are made.

The candidate with the most votes will help shape policies that impact every state employee, retiree, and former employee with an ERS account — now and for years to come.
Low turnout can weaken our voice. Strong turnout shows that state employees are paying attention and care about how our benefits are managed.

Your vote is your power — use it!
